MUA Pallette – Pretty Pastels Swatches

Hello Princesses all around the World.!!!
Here comes a post with swatchs from Mua’s Pallete, Pretty Pastels.
Mua pretty pastels pallete
I tried to do the best swatchs ever but it was hard. The colors are too light.
Although the pallete is called Pretty pastels, and would supossed to be matt (I thought) they are shimmery
Top line  (in daylight and indoors):

Bottom line:
To be honest, its not my favorite pallete. The ”shimmer” fact kind ruined my excitment. In the more darker colors, doesn’t seem so much, but it does in the lights.
Its a very spring/summer pallete and the quality is good, like all MUA palletes.
Kisses!

How I fell in love with a lipstick color, ELF – Voodoo

Hello beauties.

Its ELF time again.

I was about to make a review about some ELF products all together, but I hadn’t really tried this lipstick before. Once I did it, I had to post about it seperately.

There was not long ago that I said that I don’t usually try darker lipsticks, because I prefer ”safer” colors. Being pale in my skin, with dark hair, and big lips for my face, a too bright, or too red color for me is very risky.

I can’t really describe how much I loved this color. From the moment I tried it , I … just loved it !  It might just be me, and you might disagree with me, that’s why I ll swatch it and I expect your opinion as well.

Elf says : Spicy Warm Red Creme

I don’t know how exactly to describe it, its like the color of cherries? Wine red? Don’t know, its just looking great 😉

Looks  just okay, isn’t it ? But look it on my lips…

And how it actually looks with my skintone, colors, etc

So, what do you think?

I am delussional or it looks as good as I think it does?

Lots of Love.

Korres lipstick swatches – soft touch lip pen & guava lipstick.

Hello beauties!

I am so sorry for being absent for that long, but I am (still) out of Athens, I use and older-than-death-PC, plus I was sick for over a week, and didn’t really have the energy to blog.

Before doing any other swatch, I realized that I had 2 Korres lippies that I forgot.

Many times I buy a product, don’t like it atm, and then remember it and use it again.

This time is Korres’ soft touch lip pen in ”dark pink” and Korres’ guava lipstick in nude.

And here they are swatched in my hand

There is no need to say that I prefer the dark pink over the nude. The nude isn’t exactly nude, its more orangy than it should be, so, now I remember why I didn’t really enjoyed it in the first place. Dark pink is a MLBB color, that I love.

(Something I remembered. I recently bought a lipstick from a brand named ”prestige”, and while from the outside looked like pink, was very orangy. The lipstick quality is amazing, but the color is bad, I might swatch it soon. Greek readers, have you ever tried prestige?)

But, out of those two, I prefer the quality of the guava lipstick. Its more moisturizing and glides perfect when applied. While the Soft touch lip pen (apricot line?) is very stable, and has a veeery good staying power, its more ”dry”. Not so on the lips, but in the touch of it.

I wear the pink very often, but the nude, not. Only with a lipgloss.(Its a shame I can’t use it as much as I want)

Have a look of both in my lips, and decide yourselves as well

And here is the guava lipstick in nude

What do you think? Do you like Korres lippies?

Lots of Love beauties.

La Roche Posay Single Eyeshadows

Hello beauties!

How are you?

Here is my first time swatchin’ eyeshadows, so I decided to start with my favorite babes.

My first ”meeting” with La Roche Posay was with their cleansers and make up removers, as they didn’t coz any allergy to my eyes or skin. Their products , in general, are of very good quality, from cleansers to soaps, to lotions or sunscreen creams…

However, apart from the creams, soaps, and all tha stuff, they have the make up line, too. My favorite product from the line is the eyeshadows. .

I have only two (they don’t have – unfortunately – a huge range anyway)

(the letters on the back are not visible anymore so its just ”beige” and ”bronze”).

In reality, they look like this.

In my really-really bad indoors lighting though, they look like this…

Especially the beige, in my bad lighting, looks like yellow, where its not. Its exactly the above color

These are one of the best eyeshadows I have ever tried. At least in terms of staying power. Even when I am not wearing a primer, they last all day long!!!!!!

The apply is quite smooth, but the sponge is not that good. With another sponge, is better. And Silk.Probably not as silky as others, but anyway..

The bronze one, has a good color payoff, the beige its a bit more sheer.

Here is swatched to my hand and the bronze to my eye (the light does NOT help the beige one, at all) . The yellow above the eyeshadow is my eyelid color 😦 . I am sick the last week, and I don’t have a rosey skin at all.

NOTE:

Somewhere here, I want to inform you but I am very bad in puting eyeshadows on. I can’t see well from my one eye and I can’t put eyeshadow with my glasses on, neither I can wear contact lenses, so, I just put eyeshadow in very amateurish way

So, here is the pros and cons of La Roche posey

Pros:

Staying power / quality / pigmentation

Cons:

Brush /  color’s range

I was about to put ”price” in the cons, since it costs around 16€ (20 dollars?) which is – if I remember correctly ) as much as a Mac eyeshadow costs.

However, I think it is a value for money product, so what you pay is what you get , and more, maybe…

Have you ever tried it ? What do you thing?

PS: I am gonna do lipstick swatches once the weather gets better, so I can have good photos with good lightning. A clinique lipstick, Nyx’s Iconic and Bling, and a couple of Maybelline’s are waiting…

Lots of  Love.

Magnetic Nail Polish : Imagnet by Tommy G

Hello there!
Long time no post, and long time no nail post so it’s about time…
Before swatching it, a small welcome/thank you note to my new – Greek followers

And now I introduce you .. the magnetic nail polish

Imagnet art, by Tommy G.

….A little info about Tommy G.

Again, Tommy G is a Greek brand producted within EU. It’s part of a bigger company that produces some more cosmetics . You can find their English website here.

I like their nail polishes a lot, and I love  the Keratin base coat, which made my nails hard as rock 🙂  (their sub-brand layla has also very nice nail polishes that last a lot to my nails)

Now, the Imagnet …

(Right-Click + View image  to see them full-size)

I have purchase the nail polish in 2 colors (so far). Silver/grey and burgundy/pink. How the nail is going to look is that the cap , and its pretty accurate, I must say…

The secret lies not only in the ingridients of the nail polish (I guess), but also at the magnet in the top of the cap. The shape you are going to have is depended on how you ll hold the cap…

Enough with the theory now… Let’s see it in action….

For start, I applied ”Nail envy” from OPI as a base coat to my ugly looking nails…

I put one layer (you can add more if you want) of the magnetic nail laquer and immidiately (before it starts drying), I put the magnet as shown in the picture. The direction that the ”line” of the magnet has, determines the pattern…

As you can see, before having the magnet THAT close to the nail, is simply a nail polish. A metallic nail polish (of course you can wear it just like that, but I find it pointless to use this polish for the wrong reasons..anyway…)

Here are the  angles I tried to some of my nails…

You can do more ”complicated” nail art, by painting your nail in steps, like I did.. (Clumsily, I must admit)

I decided to make to make the simple sided pattern, so here is the final look :

I think they look very nice (the final look, not my awfully looking hands with the tones of cuticles there). Its a very unique result, with no effort, that costs around 7€.

What do you think?

See you soon.

Lots of Love

Νyx Round Lipgloss swatch : Apricot

Next stop…. Apricot Round Lipgloss. 🙂

I want to swatch all of my Nyx products (and in the meantime some other products, too) , so one by one , I will start to. I was swatching only round Lipsticks, so I though a break  with LipGlosses would be okay…

Here was Apricot  with Tea Rose of the Mega Shine series… (Apricot is the left one)

And, bokutoupdtokyo , you can have a look at Apricot now 🙂 Hope you like it.

Apricot is an soft orangy color (to coral) , perfect for summer 🙂

And how it looks compared to Tea Rose  (the right one):

I prefer Tea Rose to be honest. I am very fond of more natural colors and Tea Rose is one of them. Its not that I don’t like Apricot, I really do, but I only think is good (for me) for summer, when I”ll be (or wish to be) a little tanned. Shame on me, as a Greek I should be ”wog”, but I am not…

Round Lipglosses have less quantity in the tube (compare to Mega Shines), are cheaper, but to my opinion, less quality, too. They go off easily, and I have heard that some are way to liquid … I haven’t that problem, but they sure don’t have the same staying power, neither the tube is well designed (the hole, compared to the applicator is way big)

Anyway, all of the Nyx products, even the round lipglosses are value for money products, and sometimes, defenetely more value for the money given….

Hope you liked the Swatch…

Stay tuned..

Lots of Love

Nyx Mega Shine LipGloss swatch : Tea Rose

Hello there!   Have you all been well?    How is your Christmas vacations?

It was about time to post a new swatch so its now time for lipgloss swatches….

No, I am not over with my round lipstick swatches, it’s just that I wanted to do a Mega Shine (love!♥) swatch as well….

So here we come with Tea Rose

Mega Shine tubes come in quite big tube , with a cute bow on the top of the cap (♥ I find it so lovely ♥)

It has a cherry-cola smell, which I personally love. Some others might hate, but I absolutely adore fruity scents, especially this one…The applicator is quite usefull for me as well.

Tea Rose is (obviously) a pink color, something like a darker bubblegum pink.

Here is with  Tea Rose(right) and Apricot(left)(from round lipglosses #Nyx )swatched on my hairy arm.

I din’t put that much of quantity to my lips though, so here it is…

(bare lips first)

It gives a very nice rosey color. It IS pigmented, its just me that I didn’t apply as much as I did in my arm. Its perfect for every day/every season and I think its a color that compliments every skin tone and lips.

Mega Shine Lip Glosses:

+ Many shades to choose

+ Amazing cherry-cola smell

+ NON-sticky (which something I love)

+ Pigmented

+Cute packaging

+ decent staying power

+ Value for money

– As every Nyx product, not available to Greece, only online ordering

-Well…no other cons for Mega Shine 🙂

What do you think of Mega Shine Lipglosses from Nyx? What’s your favorite color?Do you liked it on me?

Thank you for reading

Love

Nyx ( Heather and Frappucino) and Essence (all about cupcake) lipstick swatches.

Well well well…..

I would like to thank all of my followers, who little by little are growing in numbers 🙂 Thank you very much! ♥

So.. Yesterday I went to Hondos Center (kind of Greek version of Sephora – more popular in Greece than Sephora- ) to buy a nail polish of my fave brand seventeen.

Something caught my eye, and was a cosmetics stand of the German brand ”essence”. Essence is super cheap, with okay quality. I first saw it 3 years ago to a (business)  trip I had to Germany. It had some football matches so colleauges were watching football and I decided to go shopping instead. I bought some nail polishes and lipglosses back then. I remember loving the polishes 🙂

So, I got my self an eyeshadow base, a lipstick (around 2.5€) , a nail polish and a dry-fast nail drops (yes, it IS useless but anyway)….

Together with Nyx’s Heather and Frappucino, I am going to swatch essence’s no #53 ”All about cupcake”.

This time my photos are very -very crappy, my camera is old, and probably in its last days, too… Its only 6mP . I have it for like .. 5 years !!!

Here are the lipsticks in natural light

Here is Nyx’s Frappucino:

Frappucino is an orangy-pink-brown-nude whatever color… Its a best seller, but its not MY color.

Its not that is bad, with certain make-up will actually look better, but its not that its my favorite either. Its not because of the color itself, but because of MY colors.

I am very pale myself (NC20) and very ”deadly-white”, too. You know, my cheeks are never naturally blushed, my undertones are yellow, etc….

Here is Nyx’s Heather :

This color is very-very creamy. Its so much creamy that seems like shimmering while it is not.

I was kinda dissapointed on Heather to be honest . I thought it was a natural color , on the purple side (which it is ), and it looks great in the photos but …

…..Its not that  flattering in reality.

It seems ”fake” in lips (do I make sense?) , and makes teeth look more yellow. Maybe its not flattering to me though, I don’t know..

And here is Essence’s All about cupcake. (last photo is my bare lips)

Its sheer.Very sheer. It gives you that pinky-natural color, but its almost like wearing a lip balm. Compared to my bare lips, it gives just a pinky glimpse of color.

It has a nice smell which I can’t really tell what it is, but a bit ”cheap-quality” packaging, though its a modern-looking packaging…

Bottom line?… Hm, I don’t know. I can’t really tell about ”All about cupcake” since It gives only a little color. No negative thoughts for sure.. But I.. don’t know..

What do you think about the lipsticks and the shades? You liked any? Do you have any of those? Who looks better one me ?

Thank you once again

V.

Nyx swatches : Milan and B52 (Guest star : Minimalism)

So here I am , after some days.

I had to babysit my best-friend’s adorable little daughter, and I couldn’t post my swatches, though I really wanted to.

Today I am gonna swatch the best seller of round lipsticks : B52, and (my favorite) Milan.

I also gonna swatch minimalism as asked to compare it with B52.

Excuse my awful nails, I am gonna manicure them later . Also, I want to tell you that I had a really hard time when doing the photos, because the sun in Athens (and yes, its DECEMBER = Winter) is really very-very strong. We have sun almost 350 days out of the 365.

The problem is that some are taken with stronger sun, some with lighter, so there is really not big difference in the colors!

(L – t – R : Milan, B52, Minimalism)

Indoors

( L – t – R : Milan (with a little more light than the others ), B52, Minimalism) .

Here are my bare lips, which I forgot to put in my previous swatches. I just wear a colorless lip balm

So this is Milan . I also put a smiley one to eliminate my lips’ wrinkles.

When applying, its really like applying my lips color, just more pigmented.

I love this color. I love this lipstick. Its so natural, its great. Its just my lips but (very) better. Somehow its not as popular as others, but I looooove it .

Here is B52

Okay. I must admit. First time I used it , I have more of a negative opinion. Maybe because I only saw the color in room light, and wasn’t that flattering. Seemed too mauve and brownish. But in daylight, look great. Its a bit more dark than Milan, but still a natural – my lips but better – color, maybe a couple of shades darker.

Minimalism here:

Here are some additional photos of Minimalism. I still love it. Out of the 3, its the one which is on the pinky side.

Here are all three , with non-daylight .

(L – t – R) Milan, B52 and Minimalism.

Not too different? Yeah, kind of . I have that bad habit of buying ”safe” colors…

Personally, I would recommend all of there 3 colors.

Which one you think looks better? Anything to add?

Lots of love

V.
