ΜAC Hot tahiti Lipstick Swatch/Review

Hello  beauties!

It was about time to make a lipstick swatch and here I am , I ll do one from our loving Mac. Its called HOT TAHITI.

Its’a bit winterish for color, that’s why I was waiting for the period of year to come and make the swatch

Its one of my favorite colors atm, if not the most favorite.

 

Color is… I don’t know how to describe it. In other reviews online it was described as.. ” Soft Reddish Coral” ”A red with a tinge of orange and pink” ” berry/red/rose” , ” mauv-y red with hints of coral” . I think – suprizingly – everything fits, depends on the canvas you are working it. For example, in my deadly white hand it looks like this:

Where you can see the coraly/orangy touch. To my lips though, I d say is a light mauve-berry to wine.

 

Its kinda sheer, but leaves a lovely finish, and is of course, very moisturizing.

I wouldn’t say that is a MLBB color, its a bit more dark to fit that. But its an extremely wearable color.Suprizingly, in dark looks darker, so you can also wear it in night hours as well.

 

Its a very underrated color  and I really don’t see why ! I think that fits all the skin tones, and its a color that you could wear all the time .

Sleek – Oh so Special palette swatch / spidermetrix

Hello again dolls!

After one month of my order (Amazon.co.uk), it finally came. Took lots of time, compared to other orders from there, and other shipments from UK.

Sleek – oh so special on my hands, finally! I’ve been flirting with this pallete for quite some time.

 

Before writing about the pallete, I want to tell you how I got this palette.

Long time ago, my brother asked me to sign up in a poll site. Its called Spidermetrix.

What’s that? You complete polls and you get points as rewards which when they will be enough, you can cash out . Either by cash, donation or amazon voucher.

I decided to get it from amazon, since the shipping from Sleek’s site is 9 euro, which is extrememely high.

Like the blushes that I swatched recently, so the palette, has great pigmentation.

Bow – Organza – Ribbon – Gift Basket – Glitz – Celebrate

 

Pamper – Gateau – The mail – Boxed – Wrapped up – Noir

Bow – Very very light beige. A color that I use only to the brow-bone.

Organza- I love it. Its a shimmering pink. Although I love matte shades.

Ribbon – Pinky / Salmon.

Gift Basket – Bronze.

Glitz – Blue-grey. Not my favorite, too dark for me.Μπλε-γκρί να το πω? Θα το πω. Δεν τρελαίνομαι ιδιαίτερα, δεν μπορώ να χρησιμοποιώ και τόσο σκούρο χρώμα.

Celebrate – Black/coffee with red shimmer. Me likey.

Pamper- Pinkish, a lighter version of Ribbon.

Gateau- Shimmery lilac. Perfect.

The Mail-Taupe ?

Boxed- A matter brown.

Wrapped UP – Can’t describe it . Like a purplish,brown?

Noir – Black. Perfect black.

Half and half.

 

My two favorites.

What’s suprising is that, except the amazing pigmentation (its not that obvious in the pics, after all, I suck at taking photos, so is my camera), the eyeshadows also apply very smoothly. They are not chalky, not even the shimmery ones.

The brush is awful, but the mirror on the top, is great.

E.l.f Blushes = Tickled Pink and Candid Coral

Hello beauties.

Here I am. I decided to make a blush swatch, I am not sure if I made the right decision though.

My camera is not the best, and the shades I chose are very light (I am not very good in applying blush, so I don’t buy darker shades, I am afraid to be a clown, actually).

So I decided to swatch my new – beautiful blushes – of Elf.

Candid Coral, a corl with gold shimmer blush, also known as a good dupe of Nars Orgasm and Tickled Pink, a very very fresh and beautiful pink.

So here they are…

Left is Candid Coral, right is Tickled Pink (beautiful, aren’t they)

I had a really hard time to swatch them in my arm, so this is the best I could do

Candid Coral is the one in the top, and tickled pink the one in the bottom

And now, show time…

I don’t think you have seen my fugly face yet, so here I am . Yes, I am wearing my PJs, yes, with no other make up one, yes, my brows are not fulle plucked (I m trying to make them ticker actually) and yes, with jungle hair. So please be polite.

(Left ones are Tickled Pink,left ones are tickled Pink, or easiest method, when you see my ear ring, then its tickled pink)

Bottomline, I love them. Its what I need. I don’t like very strong colors, I can’t work with them. Also with my skin tone, any strong color will appear so fake, and I prefer natural blushing. And to be honest, the photos doesn’t show how pigmented they really are. Coz they are way more than what you see here

Nyx Black label swatch : Bling

Hello Beauties….

How have you been? I had a bad time in  holidays since I got sick.. again.. Ever Xmas I m getting sick :S

I am still not totally okay, but , in better condition…

I know, I know its unacceptable for me that I haven’t update my posts for too long.

The think is that I had an 6 y.o camera of 6Mpx, that I was using. During holidays I got a new one of 12Mpx, but I can’t really use it the same.

The photos tent to get lighter, so I tried 3 times to swatch Bling, and couldn’t see the color (I saw in reality), in the photos…

I did something different today, its not that its the best thing I can do, but anyway…

This is Nyx Black Label lipstick in Bling. Very popular color, I could say…

About Black Label series….

Well, Black label is indeed different from the round lipsticks series.. Not only in price, but in quality, smell, packaging…

Its NOT more pigmented but its more moisturizing, has a bit longer staying power, and smells better. The packaging looks more ”high quality”, but I prefer round lipstick’s more… Smaller, and fits better in smaller handbags/clutches.

The Black Label Bling…

Bling is a neutral color, for every day. I can’t really describe it , its surely pink, but its very.. grey. I mean, its kind of a boring pink with grey undetones?

Being pale myself, NC20, BUT with dark brown hair/brows and green eyes, and naturally NON-blushing cheeks, I wanted something to look more… alive in me.

I usually have the corpse look, so this doesn’t really help

It is a beautiful color, actually. I just need to year it with more strong eye makeup, I guess…

What do you think? Have you used it ? Have you used Black label lipsticks from Nyx?

La Roche Posay Single Eyeshadows

How are you?

Here is my first time swatchin’ eyeshadows, so I decided to start with my favorite babes.

My first ”meeting” with La Roche Posay was with their cleansers and make up removers, as they didn’t coz any allergy to my eyes or skin. Their products , in general, are of very good quality, from cleansers to soaps, to lotions or sunscreen creams…

However, apart from the creams, soaps, and all tha stuff, they have the make up line, too. My favorite product from the line is the eyeshadows. .

I have only two (they don’t have – unfortunately – a huge range anyway)

(the letters on the back are not visible anymore so its just ”beige” and ”bronze”).

In reality, they look like this.

In my really-really bad indoors lighting though, they look like this…

Especially the beige, in my bad lighting, looks like yellow, where its not. Its exactly the above color

These are one of the best eyeshadows I have ever tried. At least in terms of staying power. Even when I am not wearing a primer, they last all day long!!!!!!

The apply is quite smooth, but the sponge is not that good. With another sponge, is better. And Silk.Probably not as silky as others, but anyway..

The bronze one, has a good color payoff, the beige its a bit more sheer.

Here is swatched to my hand and the bronze to my eye (the light does NOT help the beige one, at all) . The yellow above the eyeshadow is my eyelid color 😦 . I am sick the last week, and I don’t have a rosey skin at all.

NOTE:

Somewhere here, I want to inform you but I am very bad in puting eyeshadows on. I can’t see well from my one eye and I can’t put eyeshadow with my glasses on, neither I can wear contact lenses, so, I just put eyeshadow in very amateurish way

So, here is the pros and cons of La Roche posey

Pros:

Staying power / quality / pigmentation

Cons:

Brush /  color’s range

I was about to put ”price” in the cons, since it costs around 16€ (20 dollars?) which is – if I remember correctly ) as much as a Mac eyeshadow costs.

However, I think it is a value for money product, so what you pay is what you get , and more, maybe…

Have you ever tried it ? What do you thing?

PS: I am gonna do lipstick swatches once the weather gets better, so I can have good photos with good lightning. A clinique lipstick, Nyx’s Iconic and Bling, and a couple of Maybelline’s are waiting…

Korres swatches : Quince , Nude and Rose..

I asked you guys which items from  a recent haul you wanted me to swatch , so after the suggestion of makeupobsessions , here I am ….

They are 3 Korres Lip Products.  Korres Lip Butter in Quince, Korres cherry lip gloss in Nude and Korress Mandarin Lip Butter stick in Rose…

I am verry happy to do this swatch. Its the only Greek brand of cosmetics that is popular outside Greece, and is actually is very good (and popular). So, I m taking my proud look and swatch them for you 🙂

They are  also cheaper here (compared to some US prices I saw), the Lip butter is around 6€ the cherry lipgloss is around 10-11€ and the lipstick is about 4.5 €

My bare lips (they are very pale, and NOT pigmented)

Korres Lip Butter:

First, I bought the one in Pomegrande. I have also bought another lip balm in pomegrande,too.  I realised that something caused my an allergy (actually, it might be visible in some of my photos here, cause I have the same reaction with other ingridients,too) and after tests its the pomegrande. I don’t have problem eating it, just in cosmetics….Bizzare…

Anyway, I had to buy another color so I chose quince :

 

And here is Quince on my lips…

I love this Lip butter. It has very nice smell that isn’t strong, it gives a very very very natural color to the lips, and moisturizes. Its not that is the best moisturizing lip balm out there, or your savior  once your lips get chapped, but does the work if you want them not to dry, and look nice. Its decent for dry lips and for every day moisturizing.

The only thing, as most of us don’t like is that is in a jar. Its unhygenic, and kinda gross to put your finger in there.

Korres Cherry Lip Gloss:

I forgot to get a picture of the tube, so I ll use a random from google search. I only took a picture of the aplicator.

 

And  here is Cherry Lip gloss in Nude on my lips:

 

I am so-so-so-sooooooo Loving it ! First of all IT DOESN’T STICK! I love it when Lip-glosses doesn’t stick. Also, it smells great. The cherry smell isn’t the fake plastic one, but smell like real cherry. And also, it looks great. It’s not as ”brown” as it seems in the tube, at least not to my lips. Its a bit sheer, but gives me a more rosy shade. Has a decent stay power too, something that I don’t really care anyway :p

And Korress Mandarin Lip Butter stick :

I ll post how the typical stick looks like, and the rest are from the one I have, which is special edition…

I will be honest. I love the color. I also love how natural and nicely red it makes my lips. For an every-day light lipstick is okay. That’s all. It’s not something that good for lipbalm. I mean, its not bad, but just doesn’t really do anything to my lips. It give the ”shine” of the lip balm, but its not that soft when applied. Just not what is made for, I guess.

Bottom line,  I love all three. First and second, I love them of what they are made for, plus they give a great color. The last, I love as a lipstick but not as a lip balm..

I am thinking of all swatching them in the arm, if you ask… I can just edit my post…

Nyx swatches : Minimalism and Mars

Here we go again!

I recently discovered the brand Nyx, since its not available in my country – Greece.

Before ordering I read many reviews , so I decided to give it a try. Its very inexpensive, so it was worthing the try.

Up until now, I have only 6 round lipsticks ( I m waiting for another 6, and I ll order some more, too). They arrived in 1 + 5 . The single one, was ordered by another supplier, who also had the new shades, and this one is Minimalism

I just wanted to pointed out, because there is a difference between them, and its the smell. I read about the smell before getting mine, and when I got minimalism (this arrived first) I was ” But it smells okay”. Then I got the rest…

It has a soapy smell, that in the start, couldn’t help but notice. It goes off soon, at least.

I don’t like swatching in my hands, as to show the real color, should be swatched in lips.

And ok, I know. I have really big lips, with many ”wrinkles” and not well shaped (and sensitive skin around, that’s why they are red around the lines) , but… what can I do? This is what mother nature does….

I won’t post indoors photo, cause it is really misleading with that shitty camera of mine (Also, excuse me for the quality ) my skin looks yellow, and it doesn’t help the swatch at all,so.. only outdoors photos!

Minimalism:

 

Minimalism is a nudish color, with pinkish to mauve tones. For me it is my-lips-but-better, and great for everyday, as it is not too strong.

Mars:

 

Mars is a browny nudish color. (I didn’t apply very carefully so you can see my bare lips color as well. LOL)

I liked both, but minimalism more.  Its more ”lively”.

As far as Nyx in general is concerned ……

Pros:                                                                                             

Great Variety of colors.

Moisturizing

Cheap                                                                                    

Cons:

Soapy smell in the older shades

Not great staying power ( I don’t really care about it)

Not available to Greece

Now, fellow princesses…
