My top #10 list

Hello all!

I had some problems taking good pictures for the next swatches, so I decided to make my top #10 list until I solve the problem. The following pictures are a bit crappy (BB Bold’s 2Mpx camera is not that good, especially indoors, so..), so I am sorry.

I made a list with my favorite make-up related products. They are not exactly in the right order, but anyway….

1 # Ceralip by La Roche Posey

This is my lil’ miracle. Here in Greece we don’t have Carmex or Burt Bees ( I m gonna order them online soon though) , so I can’t really tell you if its better or worst. What I know is that I have dry (lips, skin and hair), and this little tube is amazing. Its doesn’t have the most convinient tube to apply, neither does have so great ”feeling”. Yeap, kinda vazeline-ish, but….

Even if my lips are dry as hell, chapped and bleed. Just put some and leave for the night, and…tada! Great results already. I always have a tube in my bag, and I have already give some to my friends who tried it and love it .

Price =  5 euros.

2 # Lash Stiletto® Ultimate Length Washable Mascara by Maybelline

This is my favorite Mascara. I have tried tones of Mascaras from the cheaper to many high-end ones with amazing reviews. None can ”help” with my problem.

I don’t have short eyelashes, neither I have problem with how rich they are. My problem is that no matter what, they are straight. My hair is wavy, and even my eyebrow hair tend to curl in the edges, but my eyelashes are so-damn-straight.

Curling / curling / curling, I used so many and did nothing. With regular curler machine or just curler, still, nothing . Only this one let ’em stay curly.

After one apply of that, if I want, I can apply any other mascara (for long or rich lashes), if not, its useless.

Price = I think its 14 euros.

3 # Vitamin C Skin Boost Serum by The Body Shop

This is magic. I m using it for more than 2 years, and have emptied enough bottles of it already.

Before posting my top list, I made a search to see reviews, and I was suprised that it wasn’t like by many, like it did nothing, or that caused pimples.

It makes my skin glowing, it gives a very very smooth touch, smells amazing (I love the smell of orange anyway) and gives me perfect skin (I have dry skin) . Also, it moisturizes.

Price = 18 euros

4# Anticernes concealer by Seventeen cosmetics (Greek brand).

I use this concealer for more than 6 or 7 years. Its just the best I have ever used. Moisturizing, blends well with the skin, great for my skin tone, good even for highlighting (the lighter shade) or to hide pimples (the rest of shades).

Unfortunately this brand, which has a great line of nail polishes ( I reviewed one here on my first post) , is only available to Greece. Its dissapointing because it has some very good products, with good prices, that you’d gonna love. I will give nail polishes in my first giveaway and probably another product, too.

Price = about 8 euros

5# Lip liner in natural color (#11) by Radiant.

Radiant is the proffesional line of seventeen. Its a bit cheaper than seventeen, but it has even higher quality products (though the concealer of radiant is not good).

The lip liner is not something special, its a very good lip liner with very good staying power.  you can find lots of that. But its EXACTLY my lips color (naturally, coz sometimes with bad weather my lips are very deadly-white).

Since I have not well-defined lip lines, I find this very very have-to and everyday usage product.

Price = about 7 euros

6# Vatika Coconut oil.

I recently had some hair loss, as I have each year, so I went through lot of research to help it. Bought therapies, special shampoos, eat better, still….

Until I read about this thing. I put some in my hair roots/scalp and… 1) Leaves a great smell 2 ) makes my hair softer 3) I actually saw difference of the hair loss, after a few uses….

Price = about 6 euros (?)

7 # Olive oil.

I had magic in my country, hometown, home and never used it !

I know what Olive oil was capable of , but never tried it ! It will sound strange, but I am not a fan of olive oil, or oils in general. I don’t like greasy feel in my mouth. So the only use of it , was to exfoliate my lips, together with some sugar.

So, since I also have dry hair, I thought I should give it a try! OMG ! I would have saved the fortunes I spent on conditioner, masks and all that stuff I bought to make em shiny. My hair look healthier, shinier, and I make usage of those bottles that my family gives me (Greek parents…whatever!)

Price = none 🙂 Family production. Extra virgin olive oil of excellent quality

8 # Nyx Mega Shine lip Glosses by Nyx

I m more the lipstick kind of girl to be honest. Maybe this is because I was never happy with a lipgloss. Too watery, too sparkly, too sticky (especially that), too non-natural look until…. Mega Shine Lip Glosses by Nyx. Love the smell, the texture, the colors, the non-stickiness. I would be fair to say that Korres’ cherry lipgloss is also non-sticky, and have all that kind of feautures, and even better staying power, but the cheaper price and the color range, wins for me. Still, love em both.

Price = Around 3-3.5 euros (E-bay)

9 #  Mineralize foundation by MAC

I wanted a foundation EXACTLY for my skin tone, not too yellowish, not too white, not sticky and thick and not making my skin dry.

This is it. My NC20 baby.

Price = 34 euros

10 # Illuminator by Radiant

I don’t have it available atm, in order to post a photo, I can add it later if you want it . Its a great illuminator in a soft pinky nude, the best one to hide dark circles and highlight your eyes

Price = 14 euros

1 euro = 1.2937 US dollars (04 Jan 2012 exchange price).

……………..

Phew…. This is it ! Comments are always welcomed ♥

Have a wonderful day

Love.

  1. I’m addicted to lip care stuff, and I have carmex and burt’s bees, the medicated ones..but they are saying that carmex creates addiction, and it’s kind of true. I have over 25 lip care sticks that I am using now, (and I never find one in my purse when in need) but I always come back at carmex or burt’s, specially when I ‘break’ (read: eat) my lips. So …I think you can find not medicated sticks at burt’s bees, but maybe forget carmex…

  2. I have tried a lot of lip care products but NOT the La Roche Posey Ceralip! Now that you’ve raved about it I’m definitely going to give it a try! I do like Eucerin’s lip repair though. It works very well as a night balm.

    I have also been trying to use olive oil on my hair, and it does make a huge difference! You must be so lucky to live in Greece and have endless supply of the quality stuff!

    • You should give it a try for sure! Take into account that is not for everyday use, but when your lips are dry/chapped or heavily affected by the weather. Its actually considered a lip repair balm . For me it works amazing.

      Olive oil is THE discovery for me !!! Since I have dry hair, that are not shiny at all, it gives them a natural shine, and also feel that my hair are healthier. Yes, I have endless supply, since most of Greek families, have their own olive trees, and produce – at least enough for the family needs – olive. Ours, its extra virgin, with no chemicals, with guaranteed quality 🙂
      I always had many kg in my house ( i live alone in Athens), and didn’t know what to do with THAT much (I mean I have 2 cans of 10kg each 🙂 ).. Now I know. Cooking, masks, hair, natural scrub heheheh.

  3. I think if u like a product..than it’s okay. I have so many only because I..just can’t help buying them,and I also use them a lot..I’m not really into lipstick. so with the reviews,yes,they are good,but at the end more or less they are made of the same ingredients,it only depends on your lips and if u like it. but no,haven’t tried yet the ceralip. if I bump into it in a store,for sure I’ll try it! 🙂
